Electronic Recycling
|
Recycling electronics is a topic that I find very interesting. Most of us have the habit of changing our electronic devices for no other reason than the fact that there is a better and newer one on the market. We do this with our television, microwave, remote control, electronic toys, wireless phones, iPods, digital cameras, cell phone, and the list could go on. We also have to change our batteries regularly because they run out of energy. |
It’s incredible how many things we throw away even though they are still functioning properly. We want the new stuff…. We want to follow the new technology and most of the time, technological advancement equals new electronic devices. Which brings us to the importance of electronic recycling.
And what about computers??? This is the electronic device that people change the most regularly. Sometimes you just want to add memory to your system or simply upgrade your microprocessor to increase its speed, however once you are at the computer store, you find out that in order to do so, you need to change the motherboard, the memory, the hard drive, the video card etc… |
|
I can already hear you say…. Why not change it if I can afford it? Ok… you got me!!! I’m not going to stand here and preach to you to keep working on a machine that will slow you down when you can afford to have one that does what you need at the speed you need. What I will do though is ask you what you do with your old computer? What about your monitor, your printer or your Web cam???

In this section, you will learn all about electronic recycling. In fact, you might learn that many businesses are interested in getting your old stuff. They clean it, repair it, revamp it and sell it back on the market. Some companies even distribute this amazing technology to third-world countries. Isn’t that amazing?
I invite you to read the different sub-sections to learn how you can do your part in recycling electronics. That also can help save the planet’s resources and minimize pollution for a better living.
